In two weeks, every British Columbian will receive a $100.00 Green Rebate cheque from the Provincial Government.
The Green Rebate offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for British Columbia men, women and children collectively to become a powerful fund-raising coalition to effect change in a powerful way, the way WE want to.
Would you like to release a baby owl? Your Green Rebate cheque can be used to support SORCO and to release rehabilitated birds of prey. SORCO, The South Okanagan Rehab Centre for Owls, will release four Saw-Whet owlets on Sunday, July 6, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the SORCO site. At the same time there will be a fund raising contest. Four groups, families or individuals who make the highest donation will each be given their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to release one of the four Saw-Whet owlets currently being cared for at SORCO. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more.
Drop off your rebate-donation at 262 Main Street, the TLC office in Penticton or at SORCO with your family’s or group’s name. The four highest bidders will be notified, and become part of a SORCO Saw- whet Owl release celebration on Sunday, July 6 at 2:00 PM at SORCO.
Contact sorco@telus.net to place your bid, and to check whether your bid is still at the top of the heap.
